Today have some pics I have taken through my kitchen window in the last week. Love watching the bird bath. I do not have any pets at the moment so a wonderful variety of wildlife feel safe in my yard. Keep trying to photograph the tiny birds when they come to drink but they move so quickly, one day the camera will be turned on, the curtain in the right spot,- scares them if I move at all, and I will get my pic.
This sleek magpie is a member of a regular family that lives here. Magpies are very territorial and in nesting season can be very dangerous as they dive bomb interlopers, people have to wear helmets in some places. This family don't worry me at all and wander around in the certain surety that they own the place, even to my having to shoo the young ones who will stand in front of me wanting to be fed. Actually I don't feed at all except in the middle of winter I put out wild bird seed. However they all seem to like a drink and it is a great treat being able to watch them.

Then there are the gorgeous Crimson Rosellas. This is a juvenile in the wattle tree, their colours are still forming, but what wonderful camouflage they have.

This adult Crimson Rosella takes full advantage of the amemities, well it is called a bird bath.

This is the King Parrot, they are so lovely.

Yay...great photos.
ReplyDeleteOne plus of not having a pet, all the wonderful natives hang out.
