Spring has Unsprung!!

Friday

I live in an area of New South Wales called the Central Tablelands, and winters can be cold and this one has been the coldest for a long time, but the 1st of September is when spring officially starts and so for the last week of August Nature glanced at the calendar, shook herself off and got busy.

The local wrens are meeting up in the wattle that is suddenly yellow, leaves are bursting out all over, the two rose bushes I transplanted out are looking happy-I am not a gardener so it always amazed me when plants under my care look happy. I can sit outside to have lunch again, only downside is getting that spring cleaning feeling, blah!

Then of course on Wednesday nature chuckled at our naiveté and went right back to winter, at least it is raining today, need that rain.

Some of the birds that come to have a drink in my garden:-
The magpie family
Several beautiful crimson rosellas
King parrots
Eastern Rosellas
Beady eyed kookaburras
Tiny wrens
Honey eaters
Sulphur-Crested cockatoos

Also get the odd kangaroo and there is a family of rabbits in the far corner.

Only an ordinary sized block but on the edge of town and I don’t own a dog or a cat at the moment so they all must feel safe.

The Eastern Rosella's in the photo don't show up too clearly but they were a at the other end of the block and the camera was on maximum zoom. Keep trying to get better snaps but isn't it amazing how the battery is flat or the birds have flown, will keep trying.
