Updates

My goodness, where does time go? Frittered away in living guess. Time for a knitting update.
Green socks, moving slowly got sidetracked by a couple of projects.

Fuchsia saw the teapot cosy patterns on Etsy, seller HandMadeAwards, she bought six patterns, the other five are in the ever expanding 'to do' list, this is Margaret the Farmer, complete with apples in her basket, think I will leave the faces to Fuchsia next time, not my strong suit, she is cute though.

Few weeks back went to put on hat and scarf for a walk and though 'I need a scarfy hat or hatty scarf, went through all my knitting books and consulted the googleverse, many, many patterns for hoods and cowls and scarves and hats but not what I was envisioning, must be one somewhere but decided to design my own. Last year I bought a beautiful ball of hand dyed wool from the Glen Innes markets, actually walked back to my car before it called me back. 100 grm ball of 4ply organic merino, colourway: Merlin's Apprentice, by The Inner Stitch.

Started several projects with it and unpicked them, just did not suit, so used for my scatty. Knitted a four x four rib strip for a bit, started to increase, increased more at the back, changed to garter stitch to expand the top of the head, then decreased again, crocheted along to edges to neaten and had just enough to sew a chain stitch strip along both sides of the back so I could tell it apart, would have liked it a little longer but it is so soft, warm, versatile, just love it. Fuchsia and Snowpea had a giggle, 'you look like a granny' doh, I am!! so I can get away with it I reckon.

Chatting to Coz on facebook yesterday, they are coming over for a visit next Easter, woot, as she would say, now must see if I can buy some of that yarn I keep looking at online over there, sure they would have a bit of space in luggage, off to plan :-).

  1. Im go glad you loved the yarn! many of the knitters that knit my stuff try several different projects before they settle on one..the yarn tells them yes or no basically!!
