On Becoming a Three Ring Circus Wrangler

There are four pets I am minding while Fuschia and Co are making merry in Mexico and now adventuring in Arizona.

Fang the older cat, Ludo the adorable Maltese/Shiatsu cross, my Jac and the youngest cat Queegueg. I take no responsibility for the names.

Fang has settled into a routine, he lines up every morning to be let out with the dogs. About an hour later, he casually strolls onto the front balcony pretending he has not had his fill of freedom and wants breakfast now. I open the screen door and pretend to ignore him so dignity is maintained and he strolls back in.

Ludo is no trouble and loves eating my homemade dog food along with Zac, who is still a bit bewildered but now stands up to Quee's bullying a bit more.

Quee however is quite a different kettle of something. Spent the first week totally ignoring me and bullying Jac. Then she decides, that as I am the only game in town, we will now be BFF. So now we have conversations along the lines of the following, my answers are mainly confined to “Move, out, off, eeeehhh, do not walk on keyboard.” Honest she just did that!!!!

Q – “oh what wonderful wool you have, let my show you the very best way to have fun with it.”

Q – “are you at that bowl of water again!! Really you have a perfectly good tongue haven’t you. Well if you are going to wash up I will just have to supervise, or perhaps I could lick everything clean?. No ok but while waiting will play with this toy, not a toy?, my goodness.”

Q – “I believe I have the perfect way to create passwords; I will just put my paws here, and here and hey! Why are you moving me again!!!!.”

Q – why are you holding that lump of paper, can I scratch it? Honestly you are no fun at all. Well along with watching tv and playing computer games this reading is no good for your eyes and it is my duty to make sure you cannot do anything that will harm you. So I will just sit here, right on your tummy, there isn’t that much better.

I have some photo’s but of course not the camera cable, will try and remember to pick it up next time I am at my house.

Apart from that I feel perfectly free to play computer games and watch television 'cause this is like a little holiday, not a real holiday with snorkling and sledding but close-almost-nearly.

  1. lolz - sounds like they have all settled into normal routines :) PS my fave is when you try to write something with a pen and Queequeg tries to eat the end of the pen at the same time. good times, good times!

We have our funny beasts here as well.
Having a wonderful time, may not let them leave. We could all make a compound of awesomeness
